The poem was co-written by peatland guardians from across the globe, giving voice to the deep meanings these wetlands hold in their communities—and for all life on Earth.
With this shared reading, members of the Venice Agreement community also launch newly completed translations of the Venice Agreement for Peatlands, a living document shaped through relational care and multilingual collaboration. These versions have been lovingly translated by peatland communities in Africa, Europe, and South America, and are now available in German, Kiswahili, Luo, Norwegian, Portuguese, Selk’nam, and Spanish.
