Yesterday we received the information that Tay Sheri was found dead 250 km north of Ustyrt State Nature Reserve. The circumstances of his death are still to investigate, finally. However, its disappearnce leaves us behind sad. Tay Sheri was the ignition spark for entering Persian Leopard in the Red Data Book of Kazakhstan, to elaborate an Action Plan on Persian Leopard Conservation in Kazakhstan, facilitated transboundary scientific cooperation among Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan and for the start with the elaboration of a regional strategy for the conservation of Persian Leopards under Bonn convention (CMS). Tay Sheri was the bright example on how an individual can make a difference.
