Peatland Day at Moorbauer in Malchin

Located directly in the peatland, the Moorbauer is the ideal starting point for exploring the unique landscape of the Upper Peene Valley. Visitors can experience what the peaty ground feels like, learn more about the formation and rewetting of peatlands, discover products made from peatland biomass, and speak with experts about peatland conservation and paludiculture.

The Peatland Day takes place as part of the MOOReturn and ALFAwetlands projects. Together with stakeholders from agriculture, nature conservation, municipalities, forestry, public administration, education, tourism, politics, and science, the projects develop solutions for the sustainable use of rewetted peatlands. Events such as the Peatland Day create opportunities for exchange, dialogue, and hands-on learning.
