Mongolia: Urgent appeal to preserve endangered species

New border port poses threat to endangered species

In its open letter, the Foundation Board urges the President of Mongolia to prevent the opening of the Naransevstei border port near the Great Gobi A Protected Area. This area was once the largest protected area in the world and is home to some of the rarest animal species in the world, such as the endangered wild camel and the gobi bear. The port would further endanger these species.
