WETBEINGS: Sound piece on the Aukštumala bog celebrates its radio premiere

Colaboradio is broadcasting where the eyes of water talk live on 88.4 FM in Berlin, 90.7 FM in Potsdam, on DAB+ channels 12D and 7D in Berlin/Brandenburg, and via livestream at colaboradio.org.

The piece weaves together sound traces of life and decay in the ancient Aukštumala raised bog in the Nemunas Delta in Lithuania. It was created during the transdisciplinary WETBEINGS Aukštumala Symposium, where researchers, artists, scientists, farmers, and educators explored the ecological and social knowledge held within this sensitive landscape.

The work addresses ideas of coexistence, protection, and stewardship of peatlands, blending the voices of the Institute for Multi-Species-Singing with audio material from a paleoecological coring into the bog.

where the eyes of water talk is a commissioned work for the WETBEINGS program, organised by Sensing Peat at the Michael Succow Foundation, partner in the Greifswald Mire Centre, and the Foundation for Peatland Conservation and Restoration, in cooperation with the Allianz Foundation and other partners.

The piece includes recordings from workshops, artistic contributions, and scientific sessions by WETBEINGS participants.
