International Workshop: Towards Climate Neutrality in European UNESCO Biosphere Reserves

From 29 March to 1 April, a workshop for European biosphere reserves will take place at the International Academy for Nature Conservation on the island of Vilm. Organised by the Michael Succow Foundation and Nationale Naturlandschaften e. V., the workshop offers a diverse programme for 22 participants* from 10 European countries.

The workshop will focus on successful practices and case studies in the fields of land use, economy, mobility and energy, with a focus on approaches that integrate climate adaptation, sustainable land use, nature conservation and sustainable development.

For interested practitioners from biosphere reserves and biosphere-related researchers from the MAB network, the programme includes various exciting activities such as exchange events, best practice presentations, expert talks on innovative and successful approaches to climate neutrality and, finally, excursions to climate-friendly approaches in the biosphere reserve Südost-Rügen, Germany.

The conference series is organised for the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation (BfN) and the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection (BMUV).
